Jim Noel – Ex-HDL Player/Sponsor Passes

I was notified this weekend that James “Jimmy” Noel died last week after a long illness.  Jim was 66 years old. He is survived by his wife, Diane and 2 sons, Leo & James Noel.  The funeral was yesterday (2/21) at High Point Funeral Home.

Jim Noel played one full year in the HDL in 1988 where he hit .375 and was a better than average outfielder with quick feet.

Being the owner/operator of Tony’s Pizza (Now Central BBQ), Jim gladly became an HDL sponsor for several years even though he was unable to play for the HDL full time.  Jim was a fun guy and loved having HDL players hang out at Tony’s Pizza.
