Explanation of rules that determine Batting Title eligibility:

In order to qualify for batting title, you must have at least 3.1 plate appearances for every 9 innings your team plays.  We have never had a problem in the past with extra players because we batted more times per game.  But since wood bat and teams batting an average of 11 players, the PA’s have dropped, so we lowered the threshold down to 2.8 PA’s per 9 innings.  When we looked at what that did, it helped a lot.  We can look at that later and decide if we want to change it.  That is only about a 10% decrease in PA’s.
